Work on specific areas within your practice, including:

  • tailoring a yoga practice to accommodate for, and to aid current injuries

  • working on particular postures you wish to master

  • increasing your knowledge of yoga philosophy, the various styles of meditation and breathing techniques (pranayama)

  • gain confidence and understanding of what correct posture alignment feels like in your unique body so that you feel confident to participate in group public classes.

You can only give what you have. You can only share love from a place of love; happiness from a happy place.
— laura gwilliam

Yoga practitioner since 2009 and Yoga Alliance Certified Ashtanga-Vinyasa Fusion Yoga Teacher since 2016, Laura offers yoga classes (public and private), wellbeing workshops, meditation courses, women circles, and cacao ceremonies around the world.

Her teaching style focuses on embodied mind-body-breath connection, encouraging students to move mindfully, with awareness, through their practice. She creates and leads physically and emotionally engaging classes that aim to cultivate strong, dynamic, and graceful bodies supported by the cultivation of healthy attitudes within the minds of each yogi. During class Laura translates philosophies of the east into practical everyday wisdom that resonates with the realities of western life and contemporary yoga.

Under Laura’s guidance expect to release tension and calm the mind through a series of considered, inspired movements with periods of stillness.

Her mission... "is to inspire my students through mindful meditation and considered asana practice to discover and explore their true self. My classes are focused more on what we can unlearn and release than what we need to do and be more of in order to enjoy happiness and good health".

Currently offering vinyasa flow and yin yoga for men and women of all levels living in Tidworth, Cholderton, Durrington, Larkhill, Stockbridge, Ludgershall, the Wallops and the surrounding areas.

Yoga Styles

- balance in all things -

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Mindful movement synchronised with breath as you flow between held postures. Vinyasa Flow is an insightful, dynamic, creative, and energising yoga practice. One of the most popular styles of contemporary yoga, a regular Vinyasa Flow practice benefits both the mind and body. Physically the postures build strength, increase flexibility, and help to eliminate stagnant toxins stored within the body. Mentally, moving the body in time with the breath relaxes the internal chatter of the mind and helps to release any blocked energy manifest as unhealthy habits and beliefs.

Available to all ages and abilities.

Yin Yoga

Create a more harmonious, healthy mind-body-soul connection in this slow supported yoga practice. Unlike a yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, or Bikram (which focus on building strength and flexibility within the body’s muscular system) Yin Yoga works to restore holistic balance, strengthening and increasing mobility in the connective tissue (joints, ligaments, tendons, fascia). Postures are held for between 3-10 minutes whilst the mind is encouraged to focus on stillness and awareness.

Accessible to all ages and abilities.

i am new to yoga, can i still attend your classes?

Laura’s classes are open and available to all-levels from complete beginner through to experienced practitioner. Expect to find all ages and abilities, both men and women, in her classes. Regardless of what level you are at she will encourage you to always listen to your body and to take rest when needed.

Laura offers a short course of private one-to-one classes for those wishing to build confidence in a beginner practice and an understanding of yoga prior to joining a public group class. Contact her here to discuss options, pricing packages, and availability.

i am injured. Can i still participate in a yoga practice?

Yoga is available to every body. In 2018 Laura shattered her knee in 12 places! Yoga, knowledge about the body, and a great deal of patience has helped her on the journey back to recovery. It also gave her a valuable insight into the importance of being able to tailor a yoga class to each practitioner, regardless of age, ability, and/or injury. Please let Laura know if you have any pre-existing injuries so that she can assist you in a modified practice.

Listen to your body during class. If a pose doesn’t feel “right” i.e. something feels sharp, numb, painful please stop. Yoga is not about ego, competition, forcing, and striving, it’s about connection on a holistic, mindful level in a way that promotes wellbeing and balance.

What to wear to class?

Come to yoga class wearing something that is comfortable, light, and breathable. Don’t forget layers for after class during the winter/spring months. Yogis usually practice with bare feet so that they experience maximum grip and stability on their yoga mat.

What to bring to class?

Please bring a yoga mat with you. If you are new to yoga and do not already own your own mat then Laura has some spares available for you to borrow. Please let her know in advance of the class if you would like to borrow a mat please so that she can ensure that there is enough for all practitioners. Yoga mats are also available to purchase.

In both vinyasa and yin yoga we also use other props, such as straps, blocks, and bolsters. These additional props can be borrowed, but in time buying your own to use in your home practice is recommend.

Bring a bottle of water and perhaps a small hand towel if you find that you sweat during your practice.

Some yogis also like to bring a blanket and some cosy socks for savasana.

Class etiquette

Please ensure that you arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the class. Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter once we have started so as to reduce distractions for the other practitioners.

Please remove your shoes at the class entrance and place them where indicated with any coats, bags, and belongings not needed during your practice. All property brought on to class site remains the responsibility of the owner.

All phones must be silenced/turned off during class.

Yoga practitioners are not to talk/distract others during the practice.

Laura is always available to answer any questions that you may have both before and after the class. You can also contact with her here.
